Verdeeco Named Vendor To Watch
“If you want to acheive some really big and interesting goals, you have to learn to fall in love with hard work.” -Steve Pavlina
We have some really big and interesting goals here at Verdeeco. And as a startup, looking to do some big things, and solve some real problems, for this industry that most of us here have devoted our entire careers to—hard work just kind of comes with the territory.
And I don’t know how many of you have ever worked in a start up before, but as you are existing on minimal sleep, maximum caffeine, whatever food can be delivered at the oddest hours (have you ever noticed how freakishly fast Jimmy John’s is?), and having, in general, a whole heck of a lot of fun, you are searching for those rays of light that pierce through the general fog and validate what you are working so hard for. (Well, WE don’t need the validation so much, but it sure is nice to take home to our families…to prove that most of those hours away from them really have been spent working…)
So, it is really nice to be able to get in front of leading utilities in our market, present them with our vision and our solution, and get to spend three days in discussions with them around the growing problem of big data within the utility space and the extreme potential of analytics for efficiencies and bottom-line savings locked inside that data. Those conversations were like rocket fuel to us. Seriously, who needs caffeine after that? But to then be voted by those utilities as the up and coming Vendor To Watch just really blew us away.
So thank you to all the utilities at the recent Rural Smart Grid Summit for your vote of confidence in us! Just so you know, we took about five minutes to high-five, fist bump, and polish the pretty award, but now it’s back to work. Hardly. I mean now it’s back to hard work.
Sorry it so hard to concentrate with all those little rays of light. Hey…did someone hang a disco ball in here???
